Residential Respite Services
A Helping Hand When You Need It Most
Caring for a loved one can be both rewarding and demanding. Wongaburra’s Residential Respite Care service provides short-term accommodation and care in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment, allowing carers the opportunity to take a well-deserved break while ensuring their loved one receives quality care.
Residential Respite Care may be beneficial for a variety of reasons, including planned holidays, carer illness, recovery following a hospital stay, or simply to provide carers with time to rest and recharge. It can also serve as an opportunity for individuals to experience residential aged care before making a decision about permanent care.
During their respite stay, consumers receive the same high standard of care and services enjoyed by our permanent residents. This includes:
- 24-hour nursing and personal care support
- Assistance with activities of daily living
- Nutritious home-style meals and refreshments
- Access to lifestyle, social, and recreational activities
- Laundry and housekeeping services
- Allied health services as required
- Medication management and clinical oversight
Our experienced team works closely with consumers, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure individual care needs, preferences, routines, and interests are understood and supported throughout the respite stay.
Consumers are encouraged to participate in the daily life of the home, including activities, social events, entertainment programs, and community outings where appropriate. This helps foster social connection, maintain independence, and promote overall wellbeing.
Residential Respite Care is available to eligible individuals who have been approved for respite care through an aged care assessment. Stays can vary in length depending on individual circumstances, availability, and funding arrangements.
At Wongaburra, we understand that entrusting the care of a loved one to others is an important decision. Our compassionate team is committed to providing a comfortable, respectful, and enjoyable experience that offers peace of mind to both consumers and their families.
