About Us

Wongaburra is a community-based aged care residence nestled in the small rural township of Beaudesert and overlooked by the majestic Mount Lindesay. Wongaburra is a non-denominational, not-for-profit, fully accredited aged care residence developed by the people of Beaudesert to serve the elderly within the community. Wongaburra staff pride themselves on providing the highest level of care whilst maintaining the dignity, privacy and rights of the residents, clients and their families.

Our Approach

Wongaburra’s holistic approach to care recipients and community clients is developed with the consideration of the individual’s physical, spiritual and social requirements. Care recipients and community clients are encouraged to maintain their independence and participate in activities both within the residence and as part of the larger community. Wongaburra offers a culture of restorative care to encourage people to live the best quality of life possible. Wongaburra is renowned for offering a secure, homely environment, where residents can enjoy a full and active lifestyle. Sporting activities, entertainment, outings and group activities are an integral part of the care services provided by Wongaburra. Wongaburra provides a bus service with wheelchair provisions for regular shopping trips and outings to Brisbane, the Gold Coast and surrounding areas. We are proud to say that we have met all Accreditation Standards for Residential and Home Care.

“When she was well, our mother chose Wongaburra as the place she would like to go if she needed supported living. And indeed that time came. Mum was at Wongaburra for four years. At every stage of this part of her life, Wongaburra staff were on hand to guide our mother and us through how to maintain as much independence as possible. We liked the inclusiveness of Wongaburra as a community, with family able to visit any time, to join trips out, to have meals together over the bbq or in the small private dining room. Staff were kind, supportive and friendly. We created Mum’s rooms as a miniature home – bringing pictures, photographs, and furniture; making sure she could continue her favourite hobbies. Her private phone and internet access meant we could maintain contact as before. We also enjoyed family bbqs and get togethers in the outdoor spaces provided for these purposes. Mum being able to stay in her room to the very end of her life was a comfort.”
